Frequently asked questions

Does changing the key change the speed?

No. The key and the speed are independent: shifting the pitch keeps the original tempo, and changing the speed keeps the original key.

Is my song uploaded anywhere?

No. Decoding, pitch shifting, time-stretching and encoding all happen locally in your browser.

How many semitones can I shift?

Up to 12 semitones (one octave) up or down. Small shifts of 1 to 3 semitones sound the most natural.

What is a good speed for practising a song?

Many singers practise at 70% to 90% speed and work back up to 100%.
